Art Journal Page DT project using the Blossom Branch image from Floppy Lattes

Good morning all! I'm really getting addicted to Art Journaling so decided to use this beautiful Blossom Branch image by Floppy Lattes as a focal image for an art journaling page for my Artistic Inspirations DT project . I wanted to create a page for an art Journaling group I've joined on FB and this was just the inspiration I needed for the theme of things that make you smile. The combination of digital and messy arts really pushes me to try new things and I love it. The theme for Artistic Inspirations this week is Anything Goes/ Animals, why not have a go?
Here are some steps and the products I used.

I Image printed onto patterned paper. Outlined with a charcoal pencil and blended with a paper stump.
Second image shows it almost finished and torn out of the paper, coloured with promarkers then a pink Gelly Glaze pen then highlighted with a white Sakura Gelly Roll pen.
I printed the image two more times and again coloured and highlighted. Then I cut out the main flowers and some of the buds and added them around the edges of my page.

The initial page is Gesso'ed then I drew a silhouette image of a girl on a separate piece of card which I cut out and then used as a mask. Sprized the inks/ paints, removed the stencil and added a face, hair and writing.I outlined again with charcoal. Stamped the children playing around the bottom with archival ink smudged some more charcoal around the edges and doodled a swirly line. I then wrote the words with a calligraphy pen and drawing ink, tore them out and stuck them on, which you see in the main pic at the top. Oh and a little stickles glitter added to the flower centres too!
Great messy fun! This will be part of my Journal 52 artwork. Hope you liked it! Suz xxx
Think this is suitable for the Sketchbook Challenge theme of Collage, it's also just right for Hel's Sheridan's Sunday Stampers

Art Journal cover - My Latest Artistic Inspirations project

Hi all

Here is my latest DT project for Artistic Inspirations challenge 74. I chose the image from Delicious Doodles as it was very different and I loved it, but having chosen I then found it really difficult to know what to do with it!!! Then I joined the Journal 52 group, and this seemed the perfect image to make a cover for my new hand made Art Journal and the idea which popped into my head that 'Words Are Immortal' fitted beautifully.

I used recycled cardboard to make the cover and followed a clip o YouTube to find out how to bind the pages inside. I painted the cover with various cheap emulsions purchased on sale at the local DIY store, had fun using cut'n'dry foam, a toothbrush and dripping techniques.

Then I stamped and embossed the roses which are from Visible Image (and the 'immortal' word too) onto pink paper, cut them out and layered them up. I enlarged and printed the beautiful main image from Delicious Doodles, several times. The main stone is coloured with Promarkers & Spectrum Noir pens. The wings were embossed with glitter Wow Powder, Then all layered up and put together.

I'll enter this into the latest Hels Sheridan challenge which is Wings,(http://pinkleart.blogspot.co.uk/2014/01/sunday-stamper-week-290-on-wings-of-love.html )been dying to do one for weeks but just been so frantic with 'life'!
Thanks for looking!

Here are my designs using Aurora Wings Ballerina image. I loved the image so much that I made a birthday card for my Mum with it and will be heading down to Devon on the 4 hour journey to deliver it in person tomorrow, weather permitting!!! I printed the ballerina onto watercolour paper. so I could use my old favourite watercolour palette paints. Once the paint was dry (very quick with watercolours), I went over areas with Stickles glitter glue . The swirls/ corners are spellbinder dies and I cut the sentiment on my Cricut mini from watercolour card  which I again painted and highlighted with Stickles . The background on the blue card was made by using watercolours on an Indigo Blue flourish stamp and I hand wrote the sentiment with blue calligraphy ink and highlighted with a sakura pen.

Christmas Card for my daughter using beautiful free Indigo Blue Stamps and Gilding Flakes, and embossing folder!

I was so pleased with this card that I made for my daughter for Christmas.COURTESY OF SIMPLY CARDS AND PAPERCRAFTS! That's because the Indigo Blue stash was free when I subscribed, and the embossing folder came free with the magazine - chuffed as I love it all!

I gilded the images onto white card using Versamark ink and Stamp and Bond embossing powder. Die cut flowers from a fabulous gold leaf wallpaper using the Tim Holtz floral strip. then added gems and glitter into the centre after shaping all the petals and layering them up. I used the lovely embossing folder that came free with the mag and went over it with three colours of gilding wax. Die cut letters using the Vintage Market strip and added more gilding wax around the edge of the card before mounting it onto a 8x8 card. I really enjoyed this one.

Lovely Christmas Workshop

A huge thanks to all who joined me for the Christmas workshop. And to my wonderful hubby who set all the tables up, and even prepared the mulled wine & hot mince pies while I was teaching - he even washed up!
Here are some pics of some of the lovely ladies who joined me and the cards and deccies we made.

This tree was fab, inspired by an article in the Cardmaking and Papercraft Christmas magazine issue 125 it was the prefect card to make in a really busy workshop.

These start were die cut. Then we simply scored mountain folds from the points to the middle and valley folds from between the points into the middle and added bells and wire. Quick and simple and as pretty as any in the shops that you'd pay a fortune for.
Here is another way to use them:
