So I decided to try and enter a few challanges. The biggest challenge is on how to go about it as I'm such a non-gadget girl and trying to upload things is a nightmare (hence the lack of pics on my blog-note to self, GET HELP!!). These are for the Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Challange http://timholtz.com/tattered-floral-challenge/. Anyway here goes... and tutorial below.
It worked!!!
I love these and they are so simple to make:
It worked!!!
I love these and they are so simple to make:
- Die cut white shrink plastic with the Tim Holtz Tattered Floral die 1 x largest, 2 times medium and 3x smaller flower)
- Punch holes in the larger floweres where the 'jump rings' will need to go
- Colour using alcohol inks
- Shrink each of the flowers and mould the petals upwards to shape while still warm (but not hot!)
- Glue flowers together and add pearls in the middle as shown, using glossy accents.
- Attach chain, some glass beads and the earring and clasp findings and "ta-dahhh"

Lots of crafty play in the last few days with some old favourites: Wednesday afternoon it was shrink plastic, die cut then coloured with alcohol inks and Promarkers. Yesterday it was salt dough which was an experience: I stamped into some and used shape cutters for some. Lessons learnt: 1. you need a deeply etched stamp as the images sink a bit during drying, 2. if placing on a rack to dry make sure it is a fine mesh ie with the wires not too large of far apart (mine was not and the images I placed have lost shape as they sank between the metal wires of the grill). 3. Don't make too much - it gets boring and now I've got three trays of shapes to store during drying and to decorate after, and I still have two batches of dough I didn't use!!!
Please note the picture on my mug of tea!

So I was getting a bit carried away with all things metallic this past few days, which is fab, but to balance things out I decided to chuck in a couple of pretty girlie cards. Blow me down hasn't one of them been a complete nightmare; I kept mucking bits up, sticking my arms in wet glitter, putting things on skewiff. Anyway I finished the other three and the 'naughty one' is in pieces waiting to be put together (when I'm feeling brave enough!).
